Travel deep into the jungle in pure luxury
The Anankonda is the only luxury Amazon cruise ship available in Ecuador. On this four-day journey you’ll explore the river, tributaries and rainforest on morning and afternoon excursions; returning to the ship for meals and time to relax, enjoying your surroundings in between.
On walking trails into the rainforest, your experienced guides will help you to spot monkeys playing in the trees, caiman basking in the sun and colourful tropical birds flying overhead. You’ll have the chance to explore calm lakes by kayak, cool-off with a refreshing swim, and climb to the top of an observation tower to view the rainforest from treetop level – the ideal spot for birdwatching! You’ll also visit a women’s community project to learn about the life and culture of the indigenous people. One of the highlights of this four-day cruise will be an early morning canoe ride to a clay lick where parrots, macaws and parakeets come to consume the exposed clay.
The Anakonda also operates a five-day itinerary that travels further along the Napo River, allowing the opportunity to see pink river dolphins and visit more remote communities. Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Coca to dock, motorised canoe journey to ship. Evening jungle walk.
Day 2: Morning jungle hike, afternoon kayaking and swimming.
Day 3: Early morning canoe ride to parrot clay lick, afternoon community visit, evening observation tower visit.
Day 4: Canoe journey back to dock, return to Coca.
