Explore Yasuni National Park and Ecuadors remote Amazonian communities

This eight-day Ecuadorian Amazon cruise allows guests to fully-immerse themselves into the rainforest surroundings, waking each morning to noises of the jungle and going in search of nocturnal wildlife in the evenings. During the day you’ll have morning an afternoon excursions, all the while sailing deeper along the Napo River. When onboard you can take part in cooking classes, handicrafts, star gazing from the deck, or simply relax and watch the world go by from the hot tub.

You’ll meet a local community who help protect the native pink river dolphins and may even be able to feed them. You’ll also meet Secoya and Kichwa communities who will teach you about their lives, culture and traditional dress.

You’ll have the chance to climb to the top of an observation tower where you’ll have 360° views overlooking the tree canopy. On this cruise you’ll have the opportunity search for birdlife including eagles, woodpeckers, prehistoric looking hoatzin (also known as the ‘stinky turkey’!), vultures, parrots, macaws and parakeets as well as larger animals and fish - caiman, piranhas, paíche, charapa turtles, monkeys, capybara, and on night walks perhaps bats, frogs, spiders and much more!

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Coca to dock, motorised canoe journey to ship. Evening jungle walk.

Day 2: Morning wildlife watching, afternoon dolphin conservation project and Secoya community.

Day 3: Kichwa community, afternoon sailing.

Day 4: Morning observation tower, afternoon jungle walk.

Day 5: Kayak and canoe on small tributaries. Evening night walk.

Day 6: Morning canoe excursion, afternoon kayaking and swimming.

Day 7: Early morning canoe ride to parrot clay lick, afternoon community visit

Day 8: Canoe journey back to dock, return to Coca.
