The Tucano takes its guests deep into the Brazilian Amazon, into the Anavilhanas National Park where the high-water levels flood the islands creating the illusion of a floating forest. The ship will navigate this complex, labyrinth of creeks, canals and waterways, overlooked by the dense forest, home to squirrel and howler monkeys, incredible birdlife and a wide variety of reptiles. On walks in the rainforest, your guides will aim to track some of the Amazon’s mammals, including sloths, jaguar, peccaries and porcupines. Whilst some are rare to spot, it not uncommon to see markings or evidence of these amazing animals in the area.

Itinerary

Day 1: Embark ship at Manaus and sail into the Anavilhanas Archipelago, afternoon and evening skiff rides.

Day 2: Early morning exploration, morning jungle walk, afternoon and evening skiff rides.

Day 3: Morning skiff ride and jungle walk, afternoon explore small tributaries.

Day 4: Early morning wildlife watching, afternoon “meeting of the waters”.

Day 5: Morning disembarkation at Manaus.
