Experience Peru’s Amazon rainforest in style
On this four-day cruise, you’ll explore Peru’s Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, where you’ll see the daily lives of local communities come alive, head out on early morning skiff rides as the rainforest wakes up and go in search of caiman, alligators, bats and other nocturnal wildlife on evening boat rides. During your walks in the forest the guides will help you search out native wildlife and birdlife, over 500 species of which have been recorded in the reserve.
When onboard the Zafiro, the wonderful crew entertain guests with live music, pisco sour making classes, and food cooking demonstrations… or you could simply sit back, relax and enjoy the passing scenery from the hot tub.
Zafiro also operates a five-day itinerary that can be combined with this to create an in-depth, eight-day cruise allowing guests to meet more local communities and search out more species of wildlife and birdlife. Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Iquitos and embark ship, evening boat excursion in search of nocturnal wildlife.
Day 2: Dawn excursion to see local life on the river, morning river skiff ride. Afternoon visit to Paranapura, evening skiff ride.
Day 3: Early morning wildlife watching, morning jungle walk, afternoon cruise to see pink dolphins.
Day 4: Disembark and visit the Manatee Rescue Centre en route to airport.
Prices from £2,749 per person
Price based on two people sharing a standard cabin. Cabin upgrades and other cruise itineraries are available, please speak to your Travel Specialist.
