The Southeast Beaches of Brazil are generally centred around the city of Florianopolis. The city is situated mainly on an island and linked to the mainland by three bridges and is one of the most dynamic cities in the world. It has a lively feel and is well known as a party town, but those looking for more relaxation will find refuge in one of the island city’s 42 beaches. The whole area has a good reputation for consistent waves and is one of the best places for surfing in Brazil.

Aside from good waves, the ocean off Florianopolis is also home to Right Whales during the second half of the year allowing you to combine the beach with nature and wildlife.

In the surrounding area you have Praia Mole which is a beautiful stretch of sand with some of the area’s best waves making it popular with the surfing crowd. The area is lined with bars to accommodate the fun loving crowd. If you are looking for a more laid back, bohemian atmosphere then trendy Lagoa do Conceicao has a thriving arts scene and vibrant nightlife.

The Area

Florianopolis acts as the centre of the area and from here you can make easy connections all over Brazil from the airport. Florianopolis is easy to get around on public transport or by taxi, however it is also easy to walk around many of the attractions. Beaches in the surrounding areas require a car to reach and Latin Routes can organise the transfers.

Best Time to Go

The Southeast Beaches of Brazil are famous for being sunny almost all year round and temperatures reach up to 30 °C in summer time (Nov - Feb). However being a tropical climate summer can also bring some rains too.
