Peru Inca Trail Trek 11-Day Itinerary
Days 1-2 UK - Lima
Arrive at Lima, Peru's busy metropolis, from the UK. Spend a leisurely afternoon touring Lima's historic neighbourhoods, sampling Peruvian cuisine, or relaxing at your hotel.
Days 3-4 Cusco
In the morning you will have a city tour of Lima, visiting the main plaza, an UNESCO World Heritage site, overlooked by the imposing Lima Cathedral, and the Larco Museum home, to a vast collection of pre-Hispanic artifacts. In the afternoon you fly to Cusco where, on your second day, you will enjoy a tour of the city and its surroundings visiting the cathedral, Koricancha Temple and Inca sites such as Sacsayhuaman, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.
Days 5-7 Inca Trail
Today your Inca Trail adventure begins. You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to kilometre 82 where the Trail begins. The 26-mile hike takes three nights and four days, and along the way, you will stay at local campsites. Accompanied by a guide and porters, there are lots of points of interest along the way and amazing viewpoints to make a stop at.
Day 8 Machu Picchu & Cusco
The final day of the trek is very much the climax of your Inca trail adventure. Your last day will start before sunrise when you will make your way up to the Sun Gate at Machu Picchu, where, clouds allowing, you might be able to see the sunrise over the citadel. The rest of the morning is then spent taking a guided tour through the citadel before taking the train back to Cusco.
Days 9-11 Lima - UK
Today you will fly back to Lima for your final night in beautiful Peru.
The following day you will be transferred to Lima airport for your onward flight, arriving back in the UK on day 11.
