Day 1 - Arrive in Mexico City 

Arrive in Mexico City on your flight from the UK.

Days 2 & 3 - Mexico City 

Over the next two days you’ll explore Mexico City on guided tours, discovering the bustling zocalo (main square) and learning something of the country’s fascinating history at the National Museum of Anthropology. Early the next morning you’ll take a short journey outside of the city where you board a hot air balloon and take a ride over the ancient ruins of Teotihuacan, followed by breakfast and a glass of bubbly. You then continue on to the Shrine of Guadalupe and then on to the immense Aztec ruins of Teotihuacan to see them at ground level. Walk along the Avenue of the Dead, see the Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon while exploring this impressive sprawling site.

Days 4 & 5 – Merida

Fly to Mérida, the capital of the state of Yucatan, where colonial charm and a laid-back atmosphere make it a favourite among visitors. A great base from which to explore the many delights of the Yucatan, from cenotes (sinkholes) to flamingo sanctuaries and impressive Mayan archaeological sites. Your time here has been left free for you to explore at your leisure. You could soak up the atmosphere of Merida’s streets, go wildlife watching in Celestun Biosphere Reserve or take a trip to the nearby towns of Izamal or Sisal. Day 6 –  Chichén Itzá

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Chichén Itzá. One of the New 7 Wonders of the World, it is one of the best examples of Mayan architecture. Set in dense jungle surroundings you will explore these magnificent ruins on a guided tour. Chichén Itzá means 'mouth of the well of the Itzáes' in Mayan, and it is believed that people were thrown into nearby cenotes as a sacrifice to the gods; you'll also visit the Sacred Cenote on your explorations. Continue to Isla Mujeres.

Days 7 & 8 – Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres is an idyllic little island, just off the coast from Cancun. With white sandy beaches, clear blue waters, low-rise buildings and slow pace, it has a distinctively Caribbean feel to it. Your time here has been left free for you to relax at the hotel’s beautiful infinity pool or private beach, explore the island or take to the water by kayak or stand-up paddle board.

Day 9 - Transfer to the airport for your onward flight

A boat transfer will take you back to the mainland, then continue to Cancun Airport for your onward flight.
