Our Classic Peru holiday is a fantastic introductory tour of the country, taking in the iconic sites of Cusco, Sacred Valley and the world-famous Machu Picchu in a great 9-day holiday.

Begin your trip in the heart of Peru's bustling capital, Lima before flying on to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Cusco and transfer to the Sacred Valley, to explore the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo. Continue to the highlight of the trip, the spectacular Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Discover the ancient ruins with a local guide who will bring the site to life and tell you all about the Incan Empire.

After Machu Picchu, return to Cusco for two nights in the enchanting historic city and take a half-day tour to explore the eclectic mix of pre-Columbian, Inca and Spanish colonial architecture. You will end your tour with a final night back in Lima.

Day 1 - Lima

Arrive in Lima and spend a night in Peru's bustling capital city. 

Days 2 & 3 - Lima & Sacred Valley

Enjoy a half-day morning tour visiting some of Lima’s highlights, including the main square and cathedral. You will then fly to Cusco and transfer to the Sacred Valley for two nights. 

On day 3, enjoy a full-day tour exploring the ancient Inca sites of Ollantaytambo and Chinchero.

Day 4 - Machu Picchu

Today you will climb aboard the train to Machu Picchu. Here you will discover Peru's most iconic attraction with a guide to explain all about the history of the Incan Empire. You will spend the night in the small town of Aguas Calientes, and the following morning, a second entry ticket is included for you to further explore the citadel at your own leisure (unguided).  

Days 5 & 6 - Cusco

After your morning at Machu Picchu, you will take the train to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Cusco. Discover the charming streets of the Inca capital on a half-day city tour including Korikancha and Cathedral.

Day 7 - Lima

Enjoy time at leisure to explore Cusco some more before flying back to Lima for your final night.

Day 8 - Depart Lima

You will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.

Day 9 - Arrive back in the UK
