About Me

I was born and raised in Lima, Peru and have a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. After graduating, I worked for an international tour operator – first in Operations and then as a Tour Leader, guiding groups during their trips in South America. After moving to the UK, I wanted to continue to share my passion for my home continent and I am proud to do so in Latin Routes.

My Travel Experience

I am grateful that my previous positions allowed me to travel extensively in my home country – Peru - but also in the neighbouring regions, on top of my personal travels. I have visited all types of wonders in Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Costa Rica, and Brazil – from natural wonders to cultural sites, I have guided people to discover local gastronomy and hidden gems, and I have enjoyed the beaches and hiked the Andes.

Latin America has a lot to offer, and I never get tired of discovering more. My next travel plan would be to visit Patagonia – hopefully, next year.

My Favourite Experience

My favourite experience is without a doubt trekking the Peruvian Andes. The landscape is breathtaking and there is a sense of peacefulness and feeling connected to these impressive mountains – on top of walking in the steps of the Incas and all the other Pre-Columbian civilisations that have climbed these mountains for millennia. The memories of watching the stars and then witnessing the sunset with a good cup of tea are forever engraved in my mind – quite mystic and I definitely recommend anyone to do it. Though be prepared for all weather in one day and don’t forget to take time to acclimatise to the high altitude before starting walking.
