About Me

My career in the industry started 32 years ago when I started out as a YTS (apprentice). I have worked as a travel agent for various companies over the years but when I was lucky enough to visit Brazil and Argentina in 2016, my passion for Latin America was ignited. Two years later I joined the Latin Routes team as one of their first Business Development Executives which then led to promotion as Business Development Manager. I am now Head of Trade Sales.

My Travel Experience

I am very privileged to have been to amazing places within the continent. Brazil & Argentina in particular. Rio, Iguazu Falls and Buenos Aires were my first experiences of Latin America. I have also travelled all around Peru, including visiting the amazing citadel of Machu Picchu. I have been to the fabulous city of Santiago in Chile 3 times, trekked the Atacama Desert, enjoyed horse riding and wine tasting in the Central Valley region of Chile, stayed in a luxury Yurt and hiked the Torres Del Paine National park in Patagonia. I have also been able to tick off the fabulous bucket list destination of Easter Island.

My most recent adventure took me back to Chile and down to Antarctica to experience an amazing expedition cruise – a trip of a lifetime!

I would love to visit Ecuador and the Galapagos on my next travels – but Colombia and Costa Rica are up there too!

My Favourite Experience

Gosh, there are so many! But if I had to pick one then it would be my trip to Easter Island. The famous Moai statues are incredible to see in person, and to learn and understand why and how they were made by the locals is so interesting. We were lucky enough to have experienced sunrise over Tongariki, the largest of the statues on Easter Island, a sight I will never forget. The island is one of the remotest islands in the world but is a must on anyone’s bucket list and for anyone taking a trip to Chile.
